That message seems to come from some JDev code copied and modified by our team for use in our script runner. You probably do not want to save your code before testing it, right?
Not sure if this could be some git configuration issue, or if it is a bug. If possible, could you log a SR (since 4.2 is production now rather than EA) with MOS?
Edit: Actually, that code has not changed in 5 years, so your report might be considered a bit of a surprise by some.

But I am not going to ask high-level management for the CUA and SI. I just disabled all the version control components in features because I suppose that perhaps causes conflict with Tortoise Git.
