    Exception Handling - BPM 12c

    user12859640

      Hi all,

I am implementing Exception Handling for my processes.

I am using an event subprocess with admin role, to handle exception.

      I have selected the below

However, when there was error (below) in the Xpath function (evaluated at runtime), it didnt go to the exception flow.

      exception.code:30043

      exception.type: ERROR

      exception.severity: 2

exception.name: Error in evaluating workflow service XPath extension function.

exception.description: Error in evaluating task service XPath extension function {1}.

exception.fix: Check the error stack and fix the cause of the error.

      oracle.fabric.common.xml.xpath.XPathFunctionException: ORABPEL-30043

      exception.code:30043

      exception.type: ERROR

      exception.severity: 2

exception.name: Error in evaluating workflow service XPath extension function.

exception.description: Error in evaluating task service XPath extension function {1}.

exception.fix: Check the error stack and fix the cause of the error.

Could you please suggest me how to fix this and get all exceptions?

      Thanks,

      Charanya

What I believe is that you are running into an issue with something inside your project.  Guessing you have looked at this, but the error message would lead me to think that you might have an issue in one of your XPath expressions in an activity's input or output data association.

BPM Error Event Exception handling will not catch everything.

Guessing you have already done this, but look at your log files again, and look at your audit trail and determine where the issue is occurring (e.g., which activity in the process) for the specific work item instance.  Add additional log messages in the offending activity if necessary.

Doubt any of us will much more help than this,

            Dan

              Hi Dan,

              Thank you.

Yes - there is an issue in the Xpath - I was thinking the exception handling to work like

              catch(Exception e)

For the above configurations, what all exceptions it will catch  (I dont have any business exception defined - I want to catch DB exceptions (insert/update) and any system exceptions and any others)

Sorry I am new to 12c

              Thanks in advance!
