PDF form templates

Form templates can now be maintained as PDF files. You can use any PDF editing tool of choice to modify existing form templates, or to design new ones, and fill the form with data and decisions from an OPA interview. Forms generated from PDF templates are treated just like forms generated from RTF templates. That is, you can provide download links for customers to save and print forms, as well as attach forms to records in Service Cloud or submit forms to other applications via a web service connector.

A PDF form template is now included in the Healthy Eating example project installed with Policy Modeling.

Interview extensions

JavaScript-based interview extensions are now available making it possible to develop and maintain upgradable extensions for all OPA projects. You can use any control you can imagine, such as maps, menus or calendars, and apply you own corporate styles to any interview component. There are no conflicts with, or dependency on, existing OPA control styles and you can override only the components and behaviors that you need to.

Embeddable interviews

OPA interviews can now be embedded within other applications without the need for iframes, by using the provided script and stylesheets. By referencing styles from the parent page's stylesheet, you can comply with any corporate branding requirements. It is possible to show more than one OPA interview on the same web page, each with independent styling.

You can also control which web sites any deployed interview can be embedded within. This ensures maximum compatibility and security of OPA interviews that are integrated into other application experiences.

Batch Assess REST API

The new Batch Assess REST API efficiently processes multiple assessments in a single call. With this new feature, organizations can improve service quality with regular bulk reassessment of data, such as case or incident status, payment determinations or other decisions critical to the business. Rules and policies can be applied consistently with both interactive and batch processes.

Other enhancements

Add test case results column to testing worksheets

A test case results column can now be added to testing worksheets to track and report on overall policy model quality. When the test cases are run, each test case will be marked as PASS or FAIL in the results column. This information can be combined with Excel's reporting capabilities to produce summaries and charts of policy quality.

Conditionally show individual items in a value list

The user experience in an interview can now be simplified by only showing applicable options. That is, for each list item in a value list, you can optionally set a rule for when it will appear. This rule is evaluated dynamically even when a condition is on the same screen.

Show controls on a screen only when they are relevant

It is now possible to only show questions if they are needed to help reach a decision. This can simplify maintenance for interviews with many screens or questions, as well as assist in making screen logic more resilient to future policy changes.

Configure generated form names and browser behavior

Downloaded form file names can now be specified which can help customers easily track multiple documents. Forms in an interview can also now be set to open inline or in a new window.

Polish user interface now available

A translated Policy Modeling user interface and translated Policy Automation Hub is now available in Polish. Note that a Polish built-in rule parser is not available so to create a Polish project you need to choose it as a custom language.
