How do you relink EBS R12.2.4 or 12.2.6

    Beauty_and_dBest

      Hi ALL,

      EBS R12.2.4

      OL6

We have full cold backup of our EBS R12.2.4 file folder  /u01/appprod/PROD

Then We format the server to add more diskspace.

Then we restore the backup. on the Same server, same OS, same hostname, ip, and folder location.

How do I relink to make it running as it is?

      Please help....

      Kind regards,

      jc

          Hi jc,

According to the following doc, you should only use rapid clone on 12.2 for relinking:

          R11i / R12 : How to relink an E-Business Suite Installation of Release 11i and Release 12.x ? (Doc ID 356878.1)

          Regards,

            Thanks Michael,

            I will check it ....brb..

So I dont need to run the cloning process from start?

            Kind regards,

              Hi jc,

If you are just replacing a server with the same OS, you do not have to relink.  You only have to relink if you are migrating from OEL to RHEL, or OEL 6 to OEL 7 for example.

The official document says to run rapid clone to relink on 12.2.

You could also relink the 12c home with relink all, 10.1.2 with $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone/adlnktools.sh, relink ad executables with adrelink.sh force=y "ad ALL", then all executables with adadmin.

There is no need to relink the WebLogic home.

              Regards,

              Michael

But the OS was reinstalled, and Orainventory was removed

                  Hi jc,

You can recreate the oraInventory easily:

                    Hi Michael,

Yes the backup after restoring still good to startup both the apps and db Even if the OS were reinstalled due to new model storage added.

Even if it is not registered in oraInventory folder? Because I just created the folder without contents

I have now the chance to run adpreclone.

Both apps and database preclone completed but with warning?

                    [oraascp@ebizascp ASCP_ebizascp]$ perl adpreclone.pl dbTier
