what HFMWeb0.log says at the time you open Consolidation Administration?
In case you didn't try already, next time you stop-start HFM, I would suggest you to delete the tmp and cache folders from the HFMWeb managed servers, that fixes some weird issues like this.
If the consolidation administration is not responding then it is most likely that HFM Application won't open. Not sure how you say that it is working fine.
-Login to weblogic console then check the status of HFMWeb0.
-Review the HSVEventLog file when you open the consolidation administration.
-Check the HFM DB connection, is it working fine?
-Make sure all the services are running.
Thanks for the reply, everything else other than the consolidation admin page works fine, including hfm , fr and smartview etc.
On further testing we found that the issue is intermittent, which means sometimes the page does open.
I could see error logs in the windows even viewer for the Network service.
It seems to me that the issue could be IIS related.
The app pool identities have been set up as Netwrok Service , not sure but i think I can try changing it to the hyperion dcom account we use and then try if something is blocking the network service.
Do you think it makes sense?
Yes, you may change the HFM App Pool with HFM DCOM Service Account. I am hoping that dcom account should have all the admin privilege should be able to login to HFM servers.
Let me know the results.
The issue still persists after clearing the cache/temp and changing app pool to the dcom account.
The consolidation admin page will sometimes load and sometimes not, if it doesn't load then we get an error that the connection to the server has failed.
Ok, have you got chance to review below Doc.
Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Error "A Connection To The Server Has Failed. (Status=503)" When Performing Any Tasks Taking More Than 5 Minutes to Complete (Doc ID 1516598.1)
However, it is bit old but worth reviewing it.
