SQLDeveloper 4.2 fails to compile package body after upgrade to 12.2

After my systems support staff upgrading our database from 12.1.0.1 to 12.2.0.1  I am unable to compile some of my package bodies using SQL Developer 4.2.0.17.089, Build 17.089.1709

However, I am able to compile the same package bodies using SQL Plus on the same database.

The errors I receive is Error: ORA-00603: ORACLE server session terminated by fatal errorORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kdtapc_1],[42],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[]

I also receive a popup stating that "Your database connection has been reset.  Any pending transactions or session state has been lost"

Is this issue due to a security setting imposed during the DB upgrade that needs to be addressed by my systems staff, and if so, what setting should they check.

      Thanks
