No it is not currently possible to use sub vars in EPM Automate when calling rundatarule.
What you could do is use the getsubstvar command -https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/epm-common/CEPMA/epm_automate_command_ref_general.htm#GUID-5400C490-264F-493A-9EAD-…
to get the value and then use that when calling rundatarule, you would need to script it, alternatively you could use the REST API which you would also need to script
Thanks for this.
But is it possible to use these scripts with PBCS environment?

The scripts will be local and call either EPM Automate or the REST API which will connect to your PBCS instance.
I am trying to get Substitution Variable using: epmautomate getsubstvar ALL name=CurrentPeriod.
Which results me to "ALL.CurrentPeriod=Jul-17".
Now I want to pass this Jul-17 value to RUNDATARULE command.
epmautomate rundatarule Insurance_Claim name name REPLACE STORE_DATA
EPMAT-1:EPMFDM-140152:Invalid Period keys.
But it is showing Invalid Period Keys. Any guesses?
I will write up an example of how to do it once I get the chance.
