I think I saw this functionality in sql developer, but I can't find this button.
Execute a query to do WHAT?
You can just create another connection and execute any query you want so what are you trying to accomplish?
Any query you run from a DIFFERENT session will NOT be able to see any uncommited data from the first session.
It would be easier to offer advice if you give us an example of what you are wanting to do.
right, the debugger needs enhanced to allow queries across the debug connection to the existing session - so you can do exactly what you say you can't do today - test stuff as you're running the debugger, inside the same session
