Deinstalling patches applied to P6 EPPM, and database

    Syed Razvi

      Hi,

I would like to know how to degrade the SQL database which was upgraded with Patch for P6 EPPM 17.10 back to 17.7 database.

Due to few challenges with logging into weblogic server, I had to reinstall weblogic and while trying to install P6 EPPM web with 17.7 setup and when I map the existing database it gives an error saying incorrect version.

Hence, I want to know how do I deinstall the applied patches for P6 EPPM?

      Thanks in advance!

          Hi:

This is a complicated one – what you would need to do is to revert the changes made with the upgrade script, which you can find under the folder “scripts/upgrade/PM_17_10_00/SSPM_P177.sql” for SQL Server version 17.10.

But, in your case, the problem really is that you need a 17.7 database in order to finish the P6 installation. Just create a temporary one, and then after you finish installing the patch to version 17.10, point it at the proper database that will be on version 17.10 – then remove the temporary 17.7 database you’ve created earlier.

            Hi Ravi,

            Thanks for your reply

I have followed your steps, however after applying patch am unable to point the database to the one used earlier. Please let me know how to point the database to a different instance, as running dbsetup.bat inside EPPM configured folders only gives option to upgrade the database but nowhere to change the database instance

            Please help!

            Regards,

            Syed

              Hi Ravi,

              I figured it out:)

I had to run eppmconfig.bat file and point the old database which was upgraded with latest patch.

Thanks a lot for guiding me on this..
