In the mean time to handle these type of documents Is there any way to read PDF file fonts in capture (May be using a custom Import Script),
I don't think fonts can be processed like this because it's a 3rd party entity that needs to be either present in the path where the items are being processed or is recognized by capture engine. Basically, the problem here might be coming from OIT which does all the file processing and conversions and until that is not fixed , I don't see a way around it .
Capture is not able to process the files and all the characters inside the document getting garbled.
Please clarify. Are you talking about PDF conversion, and the resulting TIF is garbled? or something else?
If it's a PDF to TIF conversion issue, use GhostScript to do the conversion, and steer away from OIT.
The issue is happening during the import of the documents from the pick up directories (The PDF document is corrupted before the conversion to TIF for recognition). I even tried the option of preserve the image files option but still the characters inside the PDF is getting garbled. Are you suggesting to print the PDF's using ghostscript? If yes then please provide some inputs on how to achieve this.
Bingo!! The Ghost Script conversion resolved the issue. You saved my day William . Thanks
Nice! Outside-In Technology (OIT) does a LOT of things well in conversion, but sometimes these odd things pop up.
