    Apache Access_log

    happy10319

      Hi,

      On R12.1.3 DB 11.2.0.4

      In Apache access_log I have:

      127.0.0.1 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:05 +0100] "HEAD  /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 0 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.11 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:05 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.12 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:06 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.11 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:10 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.12 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:11 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.11 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:15 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      10.120.8.12 - - [05/Dec/2017:10:46:16 +0100] "GET /" 200 1348 0 "-" "-"

      What does this mean?

      How to interpret this content?

      In error_log:

      File does not exist: /u01//portal/favicon.ico

      Thanks.

Those are very likely load balancer probes. The pattern matches it. You most likely have two load balancer performing a health check on your web server to determine whether it is available to route traffic to.

The error log is normal. Most browsers will request a favicon.ico file to display in the tab header. It just means you don't have one. If you don't want to see the error, just put your company's logo as an icon there.
