Consistent Colors

bejJun 19 2018 — edited Jun 19 2018

I have a series of visualizations in different analyses (in 12c) that are intended to be comparable (imagine pie charts, where categories are represented as slices). There is a fixed number of categories to be represented across all visualizations, but not all categories are represented on all visualizations. I would like the color that represents each category to be consistent throughout. I believe that, by default, OBIEE selects colors from the palette in order for each analysis, so different numbers of categories in the visualizations usually results in the use of different colors for one or more categories. Is there any way to configure these visualizations such that specific category values are represented by specific colors? I'm thinking in terms of something akin to the conditional formatting available for the table views, but I'm interested in anything that has worked for others.

Hi bej,
I work in 11.1.1.9.5, but there is a conditional format option under the style dialog for graph properties.

You'll have to set the format for however many categories you're dealing with, then repeat it in all of your charts.

Thanks, Jerry. Just what I was looking for. In 12c the option is just a text link, I'd looked at it several times without realizing it was clickable.
