Hello,
We'd like to purchase support contract for OEL. Our system is 2 CPU hardware server with Oracle VM Server x86 installed. Virtual machine with Oracle Linux will the only one there.
Is "oracle vm premier limited support" the right choice ?
The right choice for what exactly? Do you need support for Oracle Linux and Oracle VM? As far as I understand, Oracle VM And Oracle Linux are separate support options. You probably need only one Oracle Linux support subscription regardless on the number of guests. Are you running any other Oracle software, like Oracle Database? In which case you will most likely require support for Oracle Linux according to your technical support services contract. If you are looking for a reliable or official support quote or offer, you will need to contact your Oracle sales representative.
Saying "Oracle VM" you mean "Oracle VM Server x86" ? No, we need support contract for Oracle Linux. And yes, I know, I need to contact Oracle sales representative, but it is always long and painful process to talk with them.
When you say "Virtual machine with Oracle Linux will the only one there.", what do you mean?
also might http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/enterprise-linux-support-policies-069172.pdf help?

Nevertheless, that is precisely who you should be talking to. You are going to have to talk to him eventually, anyway.

Have you seen https://blogs.oracle.com/wim/oracle-linux-and-oracle-vm-pricing-guide
and http://www.oracle.com/us/media/calculator/vm/vm-home-2132015.html
I don't know if it's still up to date, but according to the information Oracle VM server does not include a license for Oracle Linux guest systems. So, if you need support for Oracle Linux, but not Oracle VM server, you will need a Oracle Linux support subscription. If you run Oracle Database, you may need support for both.
But it sucks so bad!

Doesn't have to. It's a very normal business discussion. Do your homework on the web site to make sure you understand what is included in each of the levels of support, and let them know early on that you are not interested in "The Cloud". Then all you will be discussion is number of licenses, and costs. Then YOU have to make a cost/benefit decision based on YOUR situation. No one here can really help with that.
You said you are running Oracle VM Server on a 2 CPU box. I'm assuming that is a 2 SOCKET physical machine.
And you say you plan to run Oracle Linux in some VM Guests on that Oracle VM Server.
Oracle VM Support and Oracle Linux Support are two distinct offerings.
A 2 SOCKET physical machine is called "Limited", meaning limited number of Sockets.
All Oracle VM Support is PREMIER level, so there is only one choice there. If you want Oracle VM Support, you need to purchase (1) Oracle VM Limited Support for every PHYSICAL server that runs Oracle VM Server.
You will also need Oracle VM Manager to manage the Oracle VM Servers and VM Guests. It needs to run on an instance of Oracle Linux, and it should NOT run as a Virtual Machine that is managed by itself - it should be on a separate Physical machine, or running in a different VM environment. Oracle VM Manager SUPPORT is provided by the Oracle VM SERVER Support coverage, so there is nothing to purchase for Oracle VM Manager.
Oracle Linux Support covers ALL the Linux that runs on a Physical Machine. If it is covering a Physical machine running Oracle VM Server, it support ALL the VMs on that Physical Server. Oracle Linux has a choice in Support Levels: BASIC or PREMIER. The Premier Support level adds additional value-added features and services, most notably Ksplice Rebootless Updates.
Oracle Linux & VM Field Sales is handled by a dedicated Linux & VM Team. They have no interest in "pushing" hardware or Cloud sales.
If you don't want to deal with a person, you can always purchase Oracle Linux and Oracle VM Support from the Oracle Store:
https://shop.oracle.com
Just search for "Oracle Linux" or "Oracle VM".
