Getting Optimal Performance from Oracle E-Business Suite [CON6711]
Optimizing E-Business Suite Applications Tier
Size The Middle Tier For Concurrency (JVM Heaps)
• Total available memory is the most important factor affecting GC performance.
• Monitor the frequency of collections, especially major collections (i.e.Full GC)
• Enable verbose GC to tune heap sizes based on the GC traffic
• Setting -Xms and -Xmx to the same value avoids the need for heap memory re-allocation during runtime
What is GC
I can not tell from above where to set the JVM parameter? Is it in CONTEXT_FILE?
If I start it at 2048M, what is the possible max value, assuming I have 64Gb RAM?
GC stands for JVM Garbage Collection. I have seen notes that indicate EBS JVM performance drops with more than 2G of heap size, and it is better to create more JVMs rather than one JVM with 4 or 8GB of RAM. The rule of thumb is 1 oacore JVM per 100 EBS users.
I can not grasp how to manage or create these jvm, oacore, etc thing
Our issue is, some of our users keep on disconnecting from EBS 12.1.3 system.
Supposing we have 64Gb RAM (each) for both apps & db servers. How many users can we accommodate if we use 2048M JVM?
Do I need to divide 64Gb/2028M to get the estimate number of EBS users?
