I have noticed that disabled and read only have 2 different behaviors. Read only still allows the processing portion to pick up the value whereas disabled does not.
Try enabling read only instead of disabled and see if that gets you where you need to go.
How to make an item read-only using JS DA?
I cannot use the std read-only since the item has a condition to know if its read-only or not and this expression changes as the user changes the data, thanks
Are you able to utilize the native Read Only functionality at the item level or must this be on demand client side?
I cannot use the native RO since I have complex on demand client side condition, thanks
I'm using apex 5.1 and universal theme.
I have a report with form on table pages and all is ok until I created a DA to disable column on a table.
If you look at the form you could see the Type has a value since all I did was select an existing row on the report.
I did not make any changes and just click the save and I got the error below.
If I look at the session state nothing appeared since no changes was done.
If I remove the disable JS DA it works fine.
How do I save the DML form for disabled pages.
Oracle APEX does not save the disabled select list in session state.(Note: Disable and Readonly are two different HTML attributes having same effect of disabling user input with disable having application to only some HTML elements like <select>. Readonly does not apply to <select>)
The trick is to disable the item, but enable the item back only before submit for processing. This does not cause the session state issue and also satisfies the business case for disabling the items to prohibit user interaction.
Hope this helps!
