We have a driver which we have written in C and run as Erlang extension. Problem is when we assign a "null" to one of attribute (datetime) of the object, it appears as "0000-00-00 00:00:00" in the database. Not a "null" as we want. From a code perspective, we assign "OCI_IND_NULL" in the object decoding function if it's attribute needs to be "null" but maybe it is fault? Maybe there are other way what need to be assigned to the object datetime attribute if we want it to be a "null"?
SQL> SELECT TO_CHAR(thedatetimetablecolumn, 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss') FROM thetable WHERE..."
Are you saying that returns "0000-00-00 00:00:00"?
...then perhaps something like "<yourDateTimervar> =
