Conditional Redirect based on Contact Field

    René Lücking

      What we want to achive:

Conditionally redirect the user after sending a form based on an "Opt-In" contact field. This contact field is defined as a checkbox which has the value "1" if it's checked.

      What's working so far:

      • Created a form with the following fields and settings:
        • An email text field
        • A checkbox "Opt-In" with the value "on"
        • Two "Redirect to Web Page" processing steps (both are redirecting to an Eloqua landingpage)
        • The contact gets matched by the email filled in the form
      • Added a condition to the first redirect: Form field "Opt-In" is exactly "on"
      • Added a condition to the second redirect: Form field "Opt-In" is not exactly "on"

Now if the user fills the checkbox, he gets redirected to the first page. If he doesn't fill the checkbox, he gets redirected to the second page.

      What doesn't work:

      • Change the condition of the first redirect to: Contact Field "Opt-In" is exactly "1"
      • Change the condition of the second redirect to: Contact Field "Opt-In" is not exactly "1"

Eloqua now seems to regard both conditions as true, even though they are mutually exclusive. The resulting page where the user gets redirectet to contains the content of the first and second page combined.

So if the content of the first page is "Hello World", and the second page contains "Bye World", the resulting page containse "Hello World Bye World"
