In this scenario the PMS will send a pre-configured, so called "track 2 information" to the key vendor application; this data will be written to track 2 of the magnetic card at the check-in.
At the POS the reader retrieves data from the Room card and presents the information directly to the application in the room charge or guest inquiry screen
- The key vendor must support track 2 data
- The hotel must purchase key encoders that supports writing data to track 2
- Track 2 support must be enabled in the PMS
- Oracle Hospitality POS hardware is available with magnetic strip reader, settings will be done in the POS configuration and in the Interface middleware (IFC8)
