    Exadata Snap Clone - RDBMS 18c - ORA-17515

      Hi - I am trying to setup an Exadata snap clone of a master database. I am following this doc -

      RDBMS is 18c with Jan 2019 PSU

      GI is 18c with Apro 2018 PSU

       

      When renaming the files I get the following error for each file -

       

      example command -

       

      dbms_dnfs.clonedb_renamefile('+DATA01/DEMO1/DATAFILE/undotbs7.3682.1003925829','+SPARSE/SNAP1/DATAFILE/undotbs7_3682_1003925829');

       

      ERROR at line 1:

      ORA-17515: Creation of clonedb failed using snapshot file

      +DATA01/DEMO1/DATAFILE/undotbs7.3682.1003925829

      All pre-requisits have been met and snap clones have been created on this machine before with the exact same diskgroups / settings. I have checked the diskgroup attributes and all is as it should be.

       

      I am now stuck!! Can anyone suggest what I'm missing or further things I need to be checking ?

          Hi,

           

          1. What is the status of datafile '+DATA01/DEMO1/DATAFILE/undotbs7.3682.1003925829' in teste master database ?

           

          2. Check that both compatible.ASM and compatible.RDBMS are 11.2.0.0 or newer.

           

          sqlplus / as sysasm

          SQL> select name, value from v$asm_attribute where name in ('compatible.asm','compatible.rdbms');

           

          3. If access control is not already enabled on the disk group that contains the test master's data files, then enable access control on the disk group.

          SQL> select name, value from v$asm_attribute

          where upper(name) in ('ACCESS_CONTROL.ENABLED')

          and group_number in (select group_number from v$asm_diskgroup where name='DATA1');

           

          4. Did you put test master in read only mode before running  `dbms_dnfs.clonedb_renamefile` ?
