Is it possible to get RHEL6 versions of these packages?
We're running RHEL6 and have upgraded from 188.8.131.52 to 13.2 in place. The "el6" portion indicates Enterprise Linux 6, so it would seem your sys admin is either not giving you the truth or isn't exactly sure of what he/she is doing.

My sys admin says that he loaded the latest repository and they are not there. Where should I tell him to look?
Have him try the following commands (Assuming you've got a repo setup) on the server in question
$ yum install glibc-devel.i686
$ yum install glibc-devel
What are the results?
