Oracle Database 12.2.0
I would like to know whether if there a limit viewing large number of tablespaces on Enterprise Manager?
Your subject line says SQL DEveloper, but your message body says Enterprise Manager.
Which is it?
And if Enterprise Manager, do you mean Grid Control or EM Express?
Sorry I made a mistake.
hi, i have three PeopleSoft databases in Oracle, all either 126.96.36.199 or 188.8.131.52.
They each have 250-300 tablespaces, and 300-350 data files.
It takes a WHILE for OEM 13cR2 (regular; not express) to display all the tablespaces.
It was even worse with OEM 12cR4, the display time, or even searching for one tablespace!
The data dictionary is not indexed correctly when it comes to the data files/tablespaces, OR the sql to access this data is poorly performing.
I don't think there's a limit, but there could be performance impact on the sys views/tables that are used to display the data back to OEM or Sql Dev or any other tool that reads from the DB. I would run a DB query to see what the results are in that. Then would suggest logging an SR with OEM team with some examples and details/timing of the performance and they can take a look. Could be a DB perf bug that's affecting.
