    Installation problem for APEX 19.1 in Oracle DB 18c XE

    HawkerHunter

      Hello,

      I have installed Oracle 18 c XE in my laptop and after that I am trying to install Oracle APEX 19.1.

      I have checked the available table spaces and then created one table space "APEX".

      I have unzipped the downloaded Oracle APEX file and got a folder by the name "apex".

      After that I have opened SQLPLUS from inside the "apex" folder and connected as SYSDBA.

      After that I tried to execute the command:

      SQL> @apexins APEX APEX TEMP/i/

      After that it asks: Enter value for 4:

      Can anyone please help me to know why it is asking that?

      Regards

      Hawker

          You are probably missing space after TEMP. It should be:

          @apexins APEX APEX TEMP /i/

          You may also consider installing APEX in PDB which is recommended so you will need to issue following:

          alter session set container=xepdb1;

          Regards,

            Hi Zulqarnain,

            thanks. Yes that was the problem. There should be a gap between TEMP and /i/.

            Now the APEX is loaded.

            One more thing I would like to ask you here.

            After downloading the zipped APEX file, I unzipped it and the "apex" folder is created in D:\Installers\Oracle APEX\19.1

            Now in the next step when I run the apxldimg.sql, it asks to enter value for 1:

            Can you please let me know whether I should enter only D: or D:\Installers\Oracle APEX\19.1

            Thanks and Regards
