We have installed and configured ORDS to use as mod/plsql replacement. We will not use it for APEX.
When navigating to http://servername:8080/ords/ then an error 404 page is displayed because there is APEX configured.
Since we will go public with this, can we avoid this page or better redirect it?
How have you configured and deployed ORDS? Standalone / Supported Java EE Application Servers
You can achieve this redirection thing if you deploy ORDS to Apache Tomcat and configure a Reverse Proxy (Apache HTTP/NGINX) to Apache Tomcat.
In Reverse Proxy you can either use Redirect or Rewrite rules to define that if end user enters http://servername:8080/ords/ then where should the request should be redirected to.
- The Oracle APEX Reverse Proxy Guide using NGINX | get along with Oracle and APEX (though the blog post is about reverse proxying Oracle APEX using ORDS as web listener, you can get idea basically how to reverse proxy ORDS)
Hope this helps!
No. We have it as standalone.
This is not possible when standalone?
No that I understand better how this works I found a way to do the redirection.
I just create an APEX procedure under the schema I connect and then I do whatever I want.
