There are many Initial Load methods which are as below,
1. Direct Load
2. File to Replicat
3. File to Database Utility
4. Direct Bulk Load
The above methods are mainly used for Heterogeneous replication.
Please check the below document for more details,
How did you perform the Initial Load? Are you facing error like process getting abended? Please share more information.
Do this for one table which you can extend to a whole schema. Use OGG 12.2 and above for both Oracle and MySQL
extract (source) , create dirprm/init.prm
userid user password xxxxx
rmthost 126.96.36.199, mgrport 7809
On the GGS directory
./extract paramfile dirprm/init.prm
On target side:
targetdb myconnection, userid ggsuser, password xxxxxx
map schema.tablea, target schema.tablea;
ggsci > add rep rmysql,specialrun, extfile dirdat/init
This above is called the load using extract file method. Direct load is a terrible tool unless you have very small tables which aren't the case for most sites.
If you are initial loading 100s of gigs I suggest you use a 3rd party product. There are some that can read Oracle expdp dumps which is wonderful. It will save you weeks of work and thus money. Not endorsing any, most are ok, it is not that difficult.
