Need some suggestions to make faster expdp job on multimode RAC setup

      Dear Experts,

      One General Question :

We found expdp job is running slow, what are the things we need to consider to troubleshoot about EXPDP job slowness ?

Is it possible or recommended to increase/decrease parallel count on the fly while expdp job is running ?

Please provide some tips to make faster expdp job on multimode RAC setup

There is not much information here to go on.   The one question you asked that I can answer is about changing parallel.

The way we envisioned that parallel may be changed is based on load.  Let's say your database is extremely busy until 5:00 PM, then somewhat busy until 8:00 PM.  You could start your job at 3:00 PM and set the parallel to a small number, say 2, then at 5:10 you could log into the database/data pump job and change the parallel to a bigger number, say 6, then again at 8:10 when the database is pretty quiet, raise it again to 20.   If the system gets busy at 6:00 AM the next morning, you could reduce parallel at 5:30 back to 2.

All of these numbers need to be figured out based on your database and system configuration.   Max parallel suggestion is 2 times the number of cores.

          Hope this helps.

          Dean
