    EBS 12.2.7 Performance indicator?

    Beauty_and_dBest

      EBS 12.2.7

      12c

      OL6

      Hi ALL,

Our performance indicator is when no users are complaining about our EBS system.

Or it can be that the user are patient when there is performance slow  in our EBS system, or tired to complain?

But boss wants a report (as proof) to check if performance is good.

Is it okay to submit her the awrrpt and ashrpt ?

Please help  how to  find which to part in AWR or ASH report  shows performance is okay?

      Kind regards,

      jc

          Hi jc,

Does your client have a license for Diagnostic and Tuning packs with their database license?  If you run AWR and ASH reports on the instance, they are required to have those additional database licenses.

          https://grepora.com/2019/06/05/oracle-disable-awr-and-prevent-to-violate-diagnostic-tuning/

          Plan to install Statspack instead:

          http://oracle-help.com/oracle-11g/installing-oracle-statspack/

Make sure statistics for the modules used by the business are gathered at least weekly via Gather Schema Statistics.

Monitor DB server, sar -q and see if the load average stays higher than number of CPUs for a long time.  If you have 12 CPUs and load average is consistently 30-40, then you have more queued up processes than CPU power to process.

It is always best to check with super users and see if they notice slow performance or blocking locks.

          Regards,

          Michael

            Thanks Michael,

I have a backup of  sar  (/var/log/sa)  and copy them to  /u01/backup/sa

Is it still possible to extract the load performance?

I have run sar -q and below is the output:

            [root@trnsrvr opc]# sar -q

You can review any previous day's sar results using the -f option,

              sar -q -f /u01/backup/sa/sa22

Looking at a completed day will show a 24 hours picture.  It appears this DB server is not busy at all at least from 12 am to 12 pm.

              Regards,

              Michael

I got also sa01 to sa30, which one do I used for monitoring performance?

                  Hi Michael,

This is just for demo purposes for awr, or ash, or addm.

Which part of these reports will show that the database is idle? or not so busy? or performance is good even if there are top sql?

                  Please help...

                  Kind regards,
