// *Cause: The address specified is not valid, or the program being

// *Action: Ensure the ADDRESS parameters have been entered correctly; the
// most likely incorrect parameter is the node name. Ensure that the

// If the protocol is TCP/IP, edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file to change the
// host name to a numeric IP address and try again.
can you do a
I can ping okay the service name
I can even run sqlplus apps/apps at the appsTier.
I would like to know more about your requirement, please let us know if you are trying to clone your current prod to dr?
prod and dr terms are normally used when you have implemented a disaster recovery solution using Oracle dataguard.
It is just a simple manual DR. No need for dataguard, although I was also able to setup DR using dataguard
But for this demo, I only want simple RMAN recovery.
I have tried it many times, using the following procedure.
RMAN backup PROD
then copy backup to DR,
then do RMAN restore DR,
then open resetlogs,
then do cleanup nodes at DR
then run autoconfig on dbTier and Appstier.
then the instance will startup successfully.
But this time, instead of RMAN backup and restore, I only copy the PROD-data folder as cold backup and replace it to the DR-data.
I believe this is the same to RMAN backup and restore.
What was the next step after copying?
The next step was to open the database;
Which is successful. But the node name need cleanup?
Then run autoconfig.
After you have copied database files you could
open a new terminal and
run adcfgclone dbtier
just like a new clone
