    Oracle R12.2 Online patching

Does R12.2 upgrade process takes care of following activities

q1)creation of edition view for custom table?

q2)creation of synonym for edition view in apps schema.

q3) Dependent on q2 what if 2 custom schemas have same table name, how does synonyms are created in apps schema pointing to edition views.

First you need to create the Custom Application in EBS R12.2 using:

          • Creating a Custom Application in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1577707.1)

Then ensure you follow the standards of Custom Object Development and Deployment using:

          • Developing and Deploying Customizations in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1577661.1)

Rest of the editioning specific activities are automtically taken care. Hope this helps.

Yes, in the R12.2 upgrade process, a few activities will occur:

Public synonyms need to be dropped

Custom schemas need to get editioned

Custom tables will have edition views created and synonym for APPS will be created on the editioned view using an API called ad_zd_table.upgrade.

Yes, tables with the same name in different schemas with create a conflict in during APPS synonym since they will end up with the same synonym name in APPS.

            Hope this helps.
