    Cannot Create Identity Management Realm

    Andy Thomas
      Hello

      I have a new OID install 10.1.2.0.2.

I am trying to create a new identity management realm. I have tried both with DAS and ODM.

The full error message I am receiving is:
Cannot Create Identity Management Realm Invalid Root Oracle Context. [LDAP: error code 53 - Server currently in read-modify mode. Add / Delete / ModDN operations not allowed]

I cannot find any previous error messages on this. I am logging in as orcladmin. Can anyone help?

      Regards

      Andy

Andy, the error msg states that OID is in read only mode. (Is anybody configuring replication in the background?)

You can query the status of the server

          $ldapsearch -b "" -s base "objectclass=*" orclservermode

You can set the server mode either by using ODM or using an LDIF file. See
          http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/idmanage.1012/b14082/server.htm#i1024411

Thanks very much for the reply. I changed orclservermode=rw using ldapmodify. I didn't see anything in the document you sent regarding orclservermode but using ldapmodify worked anyway.

            Thanks again.
