This parameter does not require DB bounce. Change it using below command, you should be all good.
Alter system set enable_goldengate_replication=true;
Sorry for typo, I meant you should use below
ALTER SYSTEM SET ENABLE_GOLDENGATE_REPLICATION = TRUE SCOPE=BOTH;
It does not require restart
This parameter doesn't need a restart of the DB.
Hi Experts ,
We have enabled below parameter in databases where GG configured
But after db restart this flag changed.back.to false .
Can you please set this parameter value as permanent.
Alter system set enable_goldengate_replication = true :
As we could see this parameter can be changed while system.us up since it will be changed dynamically and no restart required.
Please confirm after executed.this parameter is DB reboot also required to set to true permanently?
Or.if we use scope= both then only restart is required .
Alter system has a default scope of both, this means that the parameter changes in memory and disk straight away. Changing it in memory means that everything immediately sees the new parameter so you don’t need to restart. Changing it on disk means that when you do eventually restart, the same value for the parameter is loaded again from spfile to memory.
If you use scope=spfile, then you aren‘t changing the parameter in memory so the new value isn‘t seen until a restart. If you use scope=memory, the change is made immediately but will be reverted on a restart to whatever was written to the spfile (Or the default value)
