Can ad splice be used for registering custom application Oracle EBS 11i?

    Alexander Pavlik

I have a question: If ad splice can be used for registering custom application Oracle EBS 11i and R12.1.3 officially?

For 12.2 we have Oracle Doc explicitly instructing to use ad splice:

Creating a Custom Application in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1577707.1)

For 12.1.3 and 11i it is not so clear. Different documents seem to contradict:

Oracle® Applications Maintenance Utilities Release 12.1 Part No. E13676-02

"Note: You cannot use AD Splicer to add custom products."

R12: Unable To Register Custom Schema In EBS 12.1.3 (Doc ID 2326634.1)

"Registering a new schema in EBS should be done using ADSPLICE. In lower environments, (EBS 12.0.x) you can use the FNDSCMOU form to register custom schemas."

How to CREATE A CUSTOM APPLICATION in EBS (Doc ID 2519062.1)

When the EBS version are above 12.2,only ADsplice type support. Please follow note 1577707.1

When the EBS version are 12.1 and 11i, we can use the FNDSCMOU.fmb.There is a certified PDF document statement the detail steps.

It's said that "we can use the FNDSCMOU.fmb", but nothing about ad splice for 12.1 and 11i, nor it's said that we "must use" FNDSCMOU.fmb

Can someone add some clarity please?

      Thank you,
