I am hoping it is this easy for you... Under Set Preferences, on top right of first tab under defaults, check the box for Show Internal IDs. Now when you click the field name, you also get the Field ID on the popup help.
I also want to add, that if you happen to use Chrome, there is a great extension called NetSuite:Show Field IDs.
It let you search a form for a known field ID regardless of where it is on the form.
yes! i use both! lol
Thanks guys! These are both helpful, however do you know how to find the root field once you have the id? I am trying to find them under the customization tab > lists, records and fields. Being able to look at the root field and how it is set up helps me to figure out if it is sourcing from somewhere etc. Thanks!
Based on the field ID, that will point you in the correct space
If it starts with:
Custentity = Entity Field
Custitem = Item Field
Custbody = Transaction Body field
Custcol = Transaction Line
Custrecord = custom field of a Custom Record
This was super helpful! Thank you!
