I had the same question, and in searching for answers came across a conference scheduled for March 25-28, 2007 with some interesting topics, like:
1. A Introducing Oracle Help 5.0: A Free Help System session by Jeffrey Stephenson of Oracle. The abstract says, "...be the first to hear about Oracle Help 5.0, the latest release of the popular Oracle Help offering, combining Oracle Help for Java (OHJ) and Oracle Help for the Web (OHW)..."
"...The help still has the traditional table of contents, keyword index, and full text search index views, but they work better and faster. Oracle Help 5.0 also features a new favorites view, new quick search and document search functionality, as well as improved navigation features. The TOC view in Oracle Help 5.0 has been updated to be available while viewing the individual Help topics, which is something the older versions of Oracle Help did not have..."
That is correct. We are actively working on the next (Rich Client) version of Oracle Help for the Web (Oracle Help 5.0). Jeff and I gave a preview of this new version at the WritersUA conference last week.
Since most Oracle products use Oracle Help (either Oracle Help for Java or Oracle help for the Web), we are very committed to keep improving this great Help system.
