Can you try opening with firefox to determine if a better exception message is returned.

          Things also to check.

          1) Webcache is running

          2) the application.log file for error messages in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_Content/application-deployments/content/OC4J_Content_default_island_1

          3) the Content~OC4J_Content~default_island~1 log in $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs

          4) error_log and access_log in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs

          cheers

            Hi,

            Thank you for your advice.

            With Firefox:
As Content DB Home Page is: http://x366-2.ibm.net:7778/content/index.jspx (Host 2)
The answer after click Launch buton to start Content DB with Firefox is:
"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at x366-2.ibm.net:7777"

            1) Web Cache:
Web Cache is well running (checked in Enterprise Manager)

            2) application.log file:
            ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

              Can you try the URL

              http://x366-2.ibm.net:7778/content/app/explorerPage.jspx

I notice the port switched from 7778 to 7777.

              7777 is the webcache port.

I would double check from the terminal that WebCache is alive. Even bounce it (opmnctl restartproc process-type=WebCache)
              % opmnctl status

              Processes in Instance: Content.content1.au.oracle.com
              ------------------------------------------------+---------
              ias-component      | process-type       |     pid | status

              Content            | OC4J_RM            |    3847 | Alive
When you stop/start OC4J_Content, are any new errors listed in application.log? Such that, were the node manager port errors resolved?

              cheers

              Matt.

                  Hi Jean-Francois

It will probably take a web-conference (access to your server) from Oracle Support to resolve this.

They would need to see more details from application.log - and also up the node log level.

The http node log level can be increased from Enterprise Manager (host:1156) - by accessing the Content option, then clicking on Node Configurations > Content.XXX_HTTP_Node and changing the log level from Information to Finer/Finest.

You would then need to bounce the OC4J_Content process and provide all details from the application.log.

Support would need to see what classes got initialized, and where things eventually froze.

                  thanks

                  Matt.

                    Hi,

Finally this issue is solved following that way:
in that installation each host contain part of AS,
Host 1: contain AS (OID, Application Server Certificate Authority)
Host 2: contain AS (SSO, DAS)
and AS processes was well started on the first host but not on the second one.

Therefore i have to start all managed processes on the second host with the appropriate ORACLE_HOME and PATH with the following online command:
                    $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startall

Then OC4J_SECURITY process comes alive, and launch buton on the Content DB Home Page can normally access SSO login page.

Thank a lot for your really helpful actions.

                    Best regards

                      Hi,

I currently have exactly the same problem.
I followed the history of this Thread :
                      Our config :
HOST 1 : OID, databases (infra) , Infra midTier (SSO)
                      HOST 2 : OCS midTier.

I increased log levels for OC4J_Content island on Host 2 using EM console.
                      I restarted OC4J_SECURITY on Host 1

I still have the problem , and see in the logs :

                          I see a "session = null"

Oracle Drive sent back an Error : Could not access the path

I thought it could be a SSO problem : communication between OCS midTier and OC4J_SECURITY instance on the infra(sso) midTier.
Finally seems there is a problem when opening a session on the ContentDb Node

                          Laurent
