'AS FILENAME' is invalid in 8i, you have to copy manually the file from trace location to destination.
I´m not sure, but I think it is not possible to create a backup in text version and point to a different location.
Backup a Binary Version of the control File
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO 'd:\orant\control_backup'
Backup a Text Version of the Control File
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE;
Let´s see the others.....How I said before...I´m not sure.....
OK, I have another 10g DB...am I able to do this in 10g????
Yes, in 10g this option is supported.
So all I would do is:
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE AS FILENAME 'name';
Yeap...just try it....
