I followed every single step mensioned in the link you have given.
When save the iBot there was no response.

Would yu please clarify these doubts:

1. Do I need to have any specific settings on our SMTP mail server to send emails to external email-ids ????

2. I can see only one email account appears in My Account-->Active Profile. where I loaded 2 email accounts in my User table. Does it matters while I am choosing 'Specific Devices' on 'Destinations' Tab while deselecting 'Ineractive Dashboard' and 'Active Delivery Profile'?
3. By default the report is going to that mail account (internal only) if I select Destinations--> Active Delivery Profile.
4. As mmy requirement is to send emails to the users external to organization( external to our local SMTP server distribution list), I entered my Gmail account to test.
When save the iBot there was no response.
5. Do I need to set filter on specifc user on a conditional request to send e-mai to that usel??

6. Is there any solution for this please? Thsi is a must requiremnet.

My Thought (I am not sure) : 1. I create those user IDs on SMTP server
2. send reports to this user list.
3. From these user ID mail inbox of SMTP server if possible: forward those reports to external email IDs.

No no..nothing more required on SMTP side if its delivering the iBots to internal IDs.

If you setup SA_SYSTEM correctly, you can send reports to non-obiee users like gmail account etc.

Try below steps...

1. Create and save a report using your LOGON and EMAIL fields from SA_SYSTEM containing the folks you want to send the report to. Neither the Logon or Email information needs to be of an OBIEE user that exists in the RPD.
2. Create an iBot and on general tab, set data visibility to non-personalized and run as an administrator account.
3. Set conditional request to the report you made in step 1.
4. For Recipients, check the box, 'Determine recipients from conditional request'. The 'Column Containing Recipients' should be set to 'Logon'.
5. If you want to save the ibot to a shared folder, then check the box, 'Publish for subscription' otherwise don't.
6. Choose your delivery content and whatever other options and ensure schedule is set to immediately if you want it to go out right away.
7. Save it and it will email any email address that was on the conditional request.

Thank you for your time.
I have done exactly what you have said.
Mails are being sent to gmail and internal mail accounts. But no to any other mails(like example@abc.co.uk) Some times Gmail also not working.
Actually OBIEE is sending mails only some mail relay settings are changed on the SMTP server. Its true.
While I am saving 'LOGON' is there any restriction to not to use same name like 'Administrator' in database for every user???? and choosing the order in The 'Column Containing Recipients' should be set to 'Logon' is matter????
For some reason still I could not achieve the full functionality.
Please help if there is any restrictions while entering data in table.??? or purging ' CACHE'????.....etc...
I think I am nearly there....

Hi All,


Could you please help me with setting up SA_System Subject area.

I have everything but OBIEE doesnt send reports to external email Ids. It is only sending to first email id. which is in 'My account' If I check "My Account" area of Delivers It shows only one Email Id in 'System' mail.
How can I send reports to external Ids please.

Please help me.....

Thank you for your answer. Now Its working. Sending emails to non-OBIEE users is working. Now I have another doubt regarding sending email to internal email ID.
As an administrator I try to edit 'My Account'. I created an email device with internal email id. The report is not delivered.
When I create SA_System subject area does it impact on internal mail system?
Can I send emails to internal as well as external email ids when I am using SA_System subject area?

Please help me...

yes...use SA for all this...by default OBI Presentation Server will look for SA for System Delivery Profile ...if its not configured then only it looks for My Account.
