yeah i think it was the software that was causing the problem. it wasn't the eul though. i did not remove the eul and reinstalled the latest version of discoverer admin and its working normally again. i did take a backup of the EUL though.
i had tried from my laptop and it worked fine. i found this on wednesday but could not reply sooner as i was away for the long weekend. so i just reinstalled the admin s/w on the system at work minutes ago and its working fine now.
