Each time I am doing the installation of 11.5.10 on my Dell laptop, the install freezes while unzipping some files.
Could this be because I have just 1 GB of memory. Shouldn't this be enough?

I agree with Hussein. With 1 GB, even with 4 or 6 GB of swap, it will be so painfully slow apache may timeout while you try to log in. Order some bigger RAM and replace your existing RAM. Let us know if you need help finding out what type of RAM your Dell laptop needs. I just upgraded my Thinkpad from 1GB to 4GB on Suse Linux, and 11i and R12 run great.
