Oracle License Costs vs Oracle Support Agreements
614476Dec 20 2007 — edited Mar 19 2008Our premier technical support agreement recently expired. Since we are running old versions of Oracle products (as we are migrating to another database vendor), the Oracle rep is trying to sell us another tech support agreement (sustaining or extended support).
If we do not plan to upgrade the Oracle products and absolutely do not need Oracle tech support, are we required to pay for a tech support agreement as a way of continuing to "pay" for the Oracle licenses? Are license costs bundled with costs of tech support plans?
I"m sure I can ask the Oracle rep about this. I'm just doing some checking before I talk to him.
