/3GB on Windows 2003

taohikoFeb 1 2008 — edited Feb 1 2008
My environtment is
OS = Windows 2003 server 32bit sp2
DB = Oracle 10g RAC ( 2 instances)

My question is "Should I stop application server and web server before I add /3GB in boot.ini, add AWE in registry and change parameter of database ?"

Because I can change instance 1 and restart database was fine but I change instance 2 and reboot server and restart database was fail.

So now I rollback parameter to previous values.

How to solution for use memory more than 4GB on Windows server?

Thanks

You may want to start by reviewing http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/create.htm#sthref483

Host is the physical computer, machine, operating system ... but not the database.

So in general, 'Host Login Credentials' means 'what is the computer username and password (not database user/pwd) of the user who is to login on the host (machine) in order to do the work?'

In this case, it's probably the userid that owns Oracle .... surely you did not install the database as 'Administrator'.

that shows all of the moving pieces.

The page is part of the library located at:
