You are running out of Memory
Assign more memory
How much is the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET?Is your system running out of memory

what operating system are you running?
i am using Microsoft Windows Server 2003
IS it possible for you to increase the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET
there have been quite a few threads on this topic and the outcome I believe is that you have to enable some windows switches when starting the sever
things like /PAE /USRENV /3GB
it would be worthwhile having a quick search through the forum for these parameters.
The Oracle version and if Oracle and the OS are 32 or 64 bit versions affect whether or not the /3GB or /PAE flags come into play.
Also if pga_aggregate_target is not in use then the error generally means the userload is too large for available memory which could be because the previously mentioned switches are needed, because the user load is just to large for available resources, or that memory is being wasted by an excessive number of "dead" sessions. Again depending on the versions of the OS, Oracle, and the application space leaks could be an issue.
Bouncing will reclaim space lost to space leaks and clean up dead sessions but it is best to know why the problem exists before bouncing cause once you reboot you lose most of the information that will tell you what the cause of the problem is unless you make it a point to capture debugging information first.

Its not a small issue. There could be n number of reasons for this error. Could be a memory leak, process corruption andso on. Try to diagnose the entire stack involved including database, o/s. As suggested, bouncing will reclaim memory but its not a solution, its just a workaround. If this error will persist , a serious trouble like database crash also may can come.
i guess you are using dedicated server, right ? How much physical memory does your server have ?
physical memory = 2G
Automatic Shared Memory Management= Enabled
Total SGA Size (MB)= 820M
Shared Pool = 208
Buffer Cache = 552
Large Pool = 40
Java Pool =12
PGA = 800
I think you need to add more memory to the server and increase the PGA_AGGREGATE TARGET
Windows 32/64 ? or Unix
Unix,Windows 64-bit will not have issues more than 2 GB but for 32 bit windows you have to use /3gb or /PAE as mentioned earlier

can you check please: When you get this error message (ORA-04030) does your Windows Server run out of physical memory ? (maybe use the taskmanager, etc for checking)
From my understanding his server memory is exhausted
If you have access to metalink, there are a couple of good notes on 4030 error.
If problem is not solved, search metalink for similiar issues or bugs.
