Can we have full error messages
Soemtimes this could be due to a corrupted datafile...
Can you post the full error message from your alert log file.
When this error happen again could you check AIX error report?
See any correlation from this report
The strange thing is i don't have anything in alert log.
My procedure just brakes with this error:
ORA-27072: File I/O error Additional information: 2
hat does the procedure doesW?
whats the ULIMIT for the Oracle USer?
is it unlimited? probably will be set...
Is your file system full?
@pshiva: This is not the case. We have IBM Technology Level 3, and this bug is on IBM Technology Level 5

I've also seen this error when reserving tablespace... and running out of disk space!!
Oracle doesn't say "Out of disk space", it says something like:
ORA-19502: write error on file "/u02/oradata/DATA_MED_012.dbf", blockno
ORA-27072: skgfdisp: I/O error
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory

Yep, this error is about lack of space, I got this same error when trying to create a backup with the rman , after freeing some space, bingo, no error.
