I am working on building a huge Ontology. I persisted it into the ORACLE 10gR2 (after applying the RDF patch)
Now I need to make some inferences on the Ontology. But if I am trying to load it into a Jena Ontology Model and reason it it is throwing out of memory error(heap space).
10gR2 supports inferencing directly on the persistent Ontologies, but only based on RDFS and RDF (and some user defined rules). But I need OWL Reasoning capabilities (directly on the persisted Ontologies).
Is it possible? Does ORACLE 11g supports it in any way?
Yes Oracle 11g supports a subset of OWL. Oracle 11g can be downloaded for testing and prototyping purposes from http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/semantic_technologies/index.html . Details of the OWL technology that is supported is in the documentation and in a white paper at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/semantic_technologies/pdf/semantic_infer_bestprac_wp.pdf
