This is a RDBMS bug and has already been fixed.
BTW, why don't you put those constants in the sem_match query itself?
(?Student :Name "Jone")
you mean put those constants into sem_match's filter section?
I want to know what's the difference on performance between the two ways?
Not in filter expression, but in the patterns themselves
sem_match('(?s :name "John") .....', ....)
Often times, putting constants inside lead to better performance. Try it for yourself.
