well i guess your oracle home is not set properly.......
I had to delete the ORACLE_HOME env variable to get the system working again. Surprisingly, it had been functioning fine for the past month. I had to explicitly add the ORACLE_HOME env var after installing Oracle 11.2.0 client on top of my already existing install of Oracle 10.2 client to prevent system referencing the older version.
