I have a question about JD Edwards and test environment / patching. We're currently working with an implementation partner who indicates the following.
Any OS/DB related critical updates/patches will be reviewed, evaluated and applied. As part of the evaluation process, a call should be opened with vendor before applying the patch. Investigate on the Oracle JDE knowledge network to check if there are any known issues with the patch.
Any other non-critical updates/patches will be deferred and not be applied to the stable JDE environment. These updates or patches should be considered as part of the technical foundation upgrade process when necessary.
The vendor has indicated that we don't need a test environment nor should we apply anything but critcal Microsoft server / Oracle database patches.
I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this or if anyone could direct me to any information related to the JDE patch process / test environments.
