U stumbled on this blogpost:
It states that JDev 11g R1 will be released this month. Anyone can confirm this? Also, anyone can comment the other part on embedded WebLogic instead of OC4J?
I'm not sure you'll get any confirmation on rumours like that ;)
However, if you search around, you can probably find some things that make the rumour sound pretty credible, with OracleWorld coming up and all.
There was a post to this forum a week or so ago from what appeared to be an Oracle employee asking about an error he was getting deploying to the embedded weblogic.
But, of course, all speculation at this point - I don't have any inside information.
You are right on rumors. But, the Oracle has the rule not to release any official info or statements more than 1 month before release of product (this is some legal issue if they say something will be than and after that the postpone product release).
So, as happened with TP2-TP4, if we ask them periodically, Frank or some other official comes with statement that the new release will be "by end of this month", "this week" or so.
So, I'm just shooting in the air to see what will happen...
If this rumor is true, or if they will release R1 before OW08, then they may confirm that in next few days.
The JDeveloper 11g I saw was of 1,5 week ago. In this Jdeveloper release bea is working fine.
I heard in june from the Oracle people at ODTUG that ADF was ready ( TP4 is a february build ) but with BEA, things got a bit complicated.
Now they solved it.
By the way ADF rich faces page is much slower to load initialy then a 10.1.3 jsf page but when it is loaded then the 11g jsf page responds faster then in 10.1.3. ( because of the PPR) and there will be an oc4j 11g application server release ( I don't know when).

I think after Thomas Kurian's keynote during OOW next week you will have more clarity. WLS will not be embedded as in OC4J but integrated, which might appear the same but in fact isn't. Its better ;-)
Weblogic is already working in and with jdeveloper 11g.
But a final 11g release or a release candidate this month would be fine.

@Frank , can you explain why it is better.
Frank, can you share with us some more info on this topic:
1. integrated WL means we need a complete deployment lifecycle for each app run during the development. Is it much slower than running embedded OC4J?
2. what about memory consumption? What will be the "minimum requirements" for running Jdev with integrated WL? This is realy important for me as many devs currently use win32 (max. 3MB RAM)...
... actually the announcement is moved to this Monday during Ted Farrel's keynote. If you are at OOW, its in the Marriott, Salon 9. Rumours usually has it, but not always this proves right. So lets keep up the tension for a couple of more hours for you learn what the next build of JDeveloper will be: production or controlled beta (pre-release) and when it will show on OTN ;-)
Please check the presentation of Ted, it will be worth the time. After this you can go home.
There will be info on the Boxer and Bulldog release. I can't wait to do some great things with it soon.
