I have installed Oracle Collaboration Suite on 2-Node. Infrastructure Tier is running on Machine 1 and Middle Tier is running on Machine 2. I have made some changes in look and feel of OCS components eg. Changed logos and modified CSS.
I wanna know that is there any way to deploy OCS applications running on my machines to the customer without running Setups again on the customer's machines so that I should not work again at customer site for changes in look and feel etc.
you can :
- install production machines with<u> exactly the same OS setup</u>
- copy the sofware, data, oraInventory, oraInst.loc etc, to <u>exactly the same place</u> (directories, etc) on the production server (make links if necessary)
- if the IP / domain names are not the same on the production, apply the change procedures :
Then test the production
Thanks Arnaud for your reply.
Acutally my past experience is on Microsoft plateform and I am new in Java and Oracle world therefore can you please provide more details about the steps you suggested me to move Oracle Collaboration to the production Server?
Or can you please refer me any document so that by reading that I can understand exactly what folders to move, where those software etc may be found and how to make certain configuration?
There is no "out of the box" procedure for what you are doing. The outline I gave is for a Linux installation, as for windows it may be different because there is more adherence between OS and applications.
First, is this a Windows or Linux installation ?
Well, then I'm afraid my help will only be very limited. I guess the short procedure I gave you CAN be done on windows, but we have such a small experience on OCS windows that I can't decently tell you that it's 100% sure and give you all the detailed steps, bacause apart from files and directories, there are registry issues on windows OSes. Not easy to copy an oracle setup like on Linux.
IMHO you should ask Oracle Support through a service request and tell them that you want to move the installation following the steps I gave you. Or maybe an Oracle guy can bring some more information on this thread, I know there are people who know, but then don't come here frequently, as they all switched to beehive !
