          You don't have to modify it manually, adcfgclone takes care of it.
          Moreover, when you copied the source instance to target, the env file is included in the copy.

            Running adcfgclone.pl on the target system will create the context files, startup/shutdown scripts, and all environment files.

                  Did you check the logfile generated after running the autoconfig? I am not 100% sure if adcfgclone places its logs in the same place as Autoconfig does

                  $APPL_TOP/admin/CONTEXT_NAME/log/MMDDhhmm / adconfig.log

                  But I do know that these logs can save you a lot of groaning!

                    One option is to rename the database manually to TARGET INSTANCE NAME, generate xml file and then run autoconfig.

                    Did you run preclone script on source node before copying it over to target ?

                      His error is on Database node, not application.

                        Is it? Then check logs on db side instead?

                              I have renamed Database manually and ran following.

                              pl adconfig.pl contextfile=.... on dbtier

                              And also ran adcfgclone on appsTier ...both worked fine...
                              I have another question.

                              I have db version is 9.2.0.7
                              and apps is 11.5.10.2
                              windows 2003...
                              We have plan to upgrade Db some time first quarter of 2009 and upgrade apps end of 2009....
                              Can I upgrade DB to 10.2.0.4(or Latest version) and with apps 11.5.10.2?

                              Thanks for all the help.

                                  10.2.0.4 is certified with Oracle Apps 11i

                                  You can also upgrade to 11gR1 since it is also certified.

                                    Minimum Version of the database that can be directly upgraded to Oracle 10g Release 2
                                    8.1.7.4 -> 10.2.X.X.X
                                    9.0.1.4 or 9.0.1.5 -> 10.2.X.X.X
                                    9.2.0.4 or higher -> 10.2.X.X.X
                                    10.1.0.2 or higher -> 10.2.X.X.X

                                    I can directly upgrade tom 10.2.0.4(latest) from 9.2.0.7 according to above compatibility matrix, correct?

                                    Thanks.
