    About request.setCharacterEncoding( )

    3004

      Hi,
      One question about HttpRequest's Encoding.
In WLS 6.1, I can use request.setCharacterEncoding("Big5") to get parameter in
      request object correctly.
But in Weblogic Portal 7.0, this way is not available.
Should I try to use i18n to resovle this?
But i18n is used to write multi-language website.
I just want to use request.getParameter("xxx") to get value in
      some character encoding.
Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks a lot!

What do you mean this method is not available. This is part of the
servlet API, and you should be able to call this method.

            Hi,
I am also having a similar problem.
I am using Weblogic 10 and using request.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8") in my servlet.

It is throwing an exception and saying that these API's are not available.

Do this API not available in servlet specification used by WL 10.
